Best Friends is a no kill animal shelter in Utah committed to the goal of having all animal shelters in this country carry out a no kill policy. Their work in this area has been staggering. They offer adoption services as well. Best Friends has recently committed to sending each adopted dog away from the shelter with a brand new collar and lead. Dogs for Disabled Americans/NEADS is a nonprofit organization located in Princeton, MA. NEADS trains dogs to help people that are deaf or disabled. These assistance dogs become an extension of their owners and bring security, freedom, independence, and relief from social isolation to their human partners. Currently NEADS is training dogs specifically for the needs of Combat Veterans .
